This is a new version of the Distant Thunder Long-Range Tang Sight designed specifically for Pedersoli Gibbs long-range muzzle loading rifle and allows shooting at distances from 300 to over 1000 yards with most front sights. Shooting at 200 yards requires a front sight that is 11/16" or taller when measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the center line of the globe. O'Hare Tool / Distant Thunder Products can provide a front sight of the correct height as a standard for the Gibbs. The tang sight has plenty of elevation for creedmoor matches and 35 minutes of windage on each side of zero. It is very sturdy with no lateral play in the staff. It has a 1-minute vernier for both elevation and windage, and also has 1/2-minute index marks on the elevation and windage knobs. This sight is fully machined bar stock, with the major components made of 4140 steel, heat-treated for durability and wear. Bases with other mounting screw spacing will be made available as demand grows.
